This award recognizes excellence in the development and deployment of a fish or wildlife information-related technical application on the Web. Combines two previous award categories: Best GIS Web-based Technical Application, and Best Non-GIS Based Technical Application.
2009 Winner: AAJ Technologies, Inc., for a new online permit system for the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Best GIS Web-based Technical Application
This award recognized excellence in the development and deployment of a wildlife information-related Web-based technical application using primarily GIS technologies.
2007 Winner: Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for its Tagged Fish Reporter
2006 Winner: Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries for its Find Game application.
2005 Winner: California Department of Fish and Game and the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission for their CalFish application.
Best Non-GIS Web-based Technical Application
This award recognized excellence in the development and deployment of a wildlife information-related Web-based technical application using primarily non-GIS technologies.
2007 Winner: Conservation Management Institute, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University for its WildlifeMapping System
2006 Winner: Missouri Department of Conservation for its Deer & Turkey Telecheck Application.
2005 Winner: Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Inland Fisheries Division’s Data Analysis and Administration Group for its Fish Monitoring File Application.
Collaborative Project Award

The Collaborative Project Award was intended to recognize outstanding collaboration in the development and deployment of a wildlife information-related technical application.
Nominated applications were evaluated for their technical accomplishment, innovation, success in meeting their stated goals, and success in developing and sustaining a partnership.
