Membership Committee

Membership Committee Charge:  This committee is responsible for maintaining and increasing Organization membership by actively identifying and contacting potential members.

2005 Goals and Objectives:

  1. Solicit membership renewals from 2004 members to 2005.  We feel that we can achieve an 85% rate of renewal.
  2. Conduct a thorough Individual membership drive for 2005.  We feel that we can increase membership by 10% from 2004 to 2005.  Specific actions that we will be taking include:
    1. Getting current members to renew (see goal #1)
    2. Encouraging past members to re-join
    3. Targeting individuals who have attended OFWIM meetings in the past, but have never become members.
    4. Seeking new members through listservs and other related organizations.
  3. Conduct a focused membership drive to increase Organizational Memberships.  We feel that we can increase Organizational Membership by 200% (from 2 to 6) by doing the following:
    1. Publicize the benefits of Organizational Memberships to current members.  Through Organizational Membership, current members would encourage co-workers to join OFWIM and potentially receive a per-person reduction in membership dues.
    2. Targeting other organizations to become Organizational Members.  These include state fish and wildlife agencies, federal agencies, and NGOs.
  4. Evaluate the benefits and problems associated with establishing new categories of membership.  These include:
    1. Student membership
    2. Lifetime membership
  5. Cooperate with the Communications Committee to:
    1. Maintain the Membership Registry
    2. Manage and promote the Content Management System as a membership benefit.
  6. Coordinate with the Outreach Committee to target organizations for membership and involvement in OFWIM.
  7. Review the OFWIM Bylaws/Charter to clarify membership and the role of the Membership Committee.
  8. Professional complete our duties as an active OFWIM Committee, including:
    1. Participating in ExCom meetings as needed.
    2. Conducting meetings of the Membership Committee several times per year.
    3. Preparing an annual report of Membership Committee accomplishments and submit it before the annual meeting.
