Our 2017 conference schedule includes two full days of presentations, Tuesday’s field session at Hiwassee Refuge, a Wednesday night banquet and social at the Tennessee Aquarium, and Thursday’s workshop “Making a Map from Start To Finish” — all included with full conference registration. An additional, optional Thursday afternoon field trip will feature a two-hour excursion on the River Gorge Explorer.
The Chattanooga Choo-Choo will be our conference headquarters. The group guest room rate is $100/night plus taxes and fees. Parking is free. After this date, rooms and group rate will be extended on a space available basis only.
Registration includes Monday evening dinner at the Hacker’s Ball, lunch for Tuesday’s field session, Wednesday lunch at the annual business meeting and Wednesday night’s banquet at the Tennessee
Aquarium. Light refreshments will be provided during
session breaks Monday and Wednesday, and at the Thursday workshop.
Other meals are on your own. The hotel is served by a free shuttle service which provides access to many dining and entertainment options. Nearby attractions include Big River Grille, Sticky Fingers, 212 Market, and Puckett’s. Download a Chattanooga Shuttle Map.
Chattanooga is about two hours southeast of Nashville and two hours north of Atlanta at the intersection of I-24 and I-75. You have a choice of two airports. Nashville International (BNA) is 130 miles (2 hours) northwest of Chattanooga. Hartsville-Jackson
Atlanta International (ATL) is 124 miles (2 hours) southeast of Chattanooga.
There is also the Chattanooga Airport with a limited number of flights in and out. Transport to/from Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA) is available for hotel guests arriving by plane. Attendees renting vehicles are encouraged to carpool. We
will post schedules and times prior to the meeting to coordinate transportation.
